In 2000, Anna graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw
with Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the Department of Fine Art
Restoration. As a Conservator of Fine Art, Anna gained her experiences
while working on restoring Wilanow Palace and baroque mural paintings
in Zwierzyniec. Simultaneously to her work in art restoration, she studied
painting under Professor Danuta Makowska and Professor Grzegorz Pabel
(1993-1998). Each year of her studies, she participated in the Academys
annual students work exhibitions. Anna learned her art techniques by
copying the greatest paintings at the National Museum in Warsaw. She
worked with a variety of mediums such as oil painting, pastel, watercolor
and tempera.
Anna grouped her works into diptych and triptych the same way the
medieval altars were grouped. In her works, she employs the elements
of Polish landscape, folklore and symbolism. Her style is characterized
by the amalgamation of the realism and symbolism. The symbolism of her paintings
articulates the beauty of human existence, dignity and values.
Anna transfers her fascination of human life onto the canvas. Her portraits
are in-depth psychological studies of a common people, often children.
Furthermore, Anna engages in illustration and caricature graphics. In Poland, Anna
cooperated with several publishers, such as Axel & Springer, Wilga, Unit, Nowa
Era. During 1990 1995, she illustrated children books
and published several series of postcards. Since 2000, Anna settled down
in Boston area and began her cooperation with such publishers as Pauline Books
and Media Liturgical Publication, Inc. Additionally, Anna currently designs
posters for Polish Film Festivals and other Polish events.
